Diagnostic Criteria in Ayurved

In most cases, there are some cardinal symptoms that help to decide the disease but to confirm some basic normal parameters we must know.

The human body has its normal body condition to work properly, like temperature 98.6 F, over this we concede it as fever but some people have high body temperature but feel fresh and some feel opposite, then how can we know that the person is having a fever? By checking his pulse, we can find a high pulse rate during fever.

Ayurveda describes Asthavidh pariksha to examine the patient’s condition and disease condition. There is eight statistics described by Acharya for examination– Nadi, Mutra, Purish, Jihva, Shabda, Sparsh, Drishti, Akruti

The reason for every disease occurrence is vatadik mala.

Physicians should start treatment only after examining the above describe 8 criteria.

NADI PARIKSHA:

In VINA every TARA say about raga, like that NADI in our body says about diseases.

In male right hand and in the female left hand is should examine by the right hand of the physician.

Put the right hand of a physician on the root of thumb of the patient.

Do it in the morning time for one prahar (48 min) by using three fingers of physician vata, pitta, and kapha respectively.

The physician should check Nadi, as Manda, Madhya, Tivra.

CONTRA INDICATIONS FOR NADI PARIKSHA:

METHOD OF SAMPLE COLLECTION: Collect the middle portion of mutra in the last Prahar of Ratri when 4 ghadi left.

TAILBINDU PARIKSHA:-

Take Mutra in glass container and put oil drop in it.

*If oil drop remains unspread person is healthy or disease is curable.

*If oil drop spreads,disease have bad prognosis.

*If oil drop dipped in it,disease is uncurable.
