Why is Healthy Seasonal Regimen Important in Rainy Season?

In Ayurveda Varsha Rutu is Considered a Sensitive Season for Health Because in Varsha Rutu the Agni (Digestive Fire) is Weak.it is Already Debilitated by Grishma Rutu, It Undergoes Further Decrease.

The Doshas Get Aggravated by the Effect of Thick Clouds Full of Water,cold Wind Having Snow,dirty Water Because of Rain,warmth of the Earth and Sourness.due to Poor Strength of Digestive Fire All the Three Doshas Start Vitiating and Leads to Many Diseases.

Hence We Should Be Follow Regimen of Varsha Rutu Carefully and Not to Upset Digestion.

Common Health Issues in Varsha Rutu (Rainy Season)

Ajeerna(Indigestion), Agnimandhya (Poor Appetite), Bloating, Heaviness in Abdomen, Constipation.

Vatvyadhi (Bone and Joint Pain), Lower Back Pain, Spondylitis Etc Can Aggravates.

Kustha (Skin Diseases), Itching, Fungal Infection, Boils Etc.

Respiratory Problems Like Cough, Cold, Asthma Can Worsen.

Atisara (Diarrhoea, Waterborne Infections), Jwara(Fever).

Regimen of Diet & Lifestyle in Varsha Rutu

Diet:- Purana Yava (Old Barely), Godhuma(Wheat), Shali(Rice), Madhvika or Arishta (Alcoholic Preparation) Taking With Honey and Water Shold Be Consumed.

Pure Rain Water or Well, Pond Water Boiled and Cooled, Mixed With a Small Quantity of Honey Should Be Consumed.

Lifestyle:- Praghrashana (Massage Body With Palm), Udavartan (Powder Massage), Snan(Bathing), Gandhamala (Wear Fragrant Garland).

Wear Light &clean Clothes and Should Reside in a House Devoid of Humidity.

All the General Measures to Mitigates Imbalanced Doshas and to Improve Digestive Fire Should Be Adopted.

Varjya Ahara-vihar (Avoid Following Regimen)

Udamantha(Beverage Prepared With Flour of Corns Mixed With Ghee), Divasvapna(Day Sleeping), Nadi Jala(River Water),vyayama(Exercise),atap Sevana(Exposure to Sunlight),vyavaya(Sexual Intercourse),should Not Move on Foot(Move Only on Vehicles).

Panchkarma Regimen:- In Astang Hriday Adivesd to Panchkarma Therapies.after That the Person Should Also Be Administered Asthapana Basti (Decoction Enema). Asthapan Basti is Prescribed as an Evacuative Measures to Expel Vitiated Doshas.
