Contraindications and Their Reasons
(1) Kshat(Injury)
Reason:- if Subjected to Emesis, Due to Further Strain, Profuse Haemorrhage May Occur.
(2) Ati Bala(Children)
Ati Vridha(Old Age)
Ati Krisa(Emaciated)
Kshin(Debilitated)
Durbala(Weakness)
Shrant (Exhaustion),
Pipasit(Afflicted With Thirst),
Kshudhit(Hungry)
Reasons:- There Will Be Danger to Their Lives Because of Their Inability to Tolerate the Action of Medication and Also Strain of the Procedure.may Cause Death.
(3) Karma(Excessive Physical Excercise)
Bhar(Lifting Heavy Weights)
Adhvahat(Excessive Walking)
Upvas(Fasting)
Maithun(Indulging in Excessive Sex)
Adhyayan(Continous Reading)
Vyayam(Excessive Excercise)
Ksham (Physical Weakness)
Reason:- on Account of Their Un-unctous Condition There Will Be Provocation of Vata.haemorrhage or Ulceration.
(4) Garbhini(Pregnancy)
Reason:- Complications of Pregnancy,abortion of Immature Fetus and Incidence of Fatal Diseases.
(5) Sukumar(Person of Delicate Constitution)
Reason:- Due to Strain of the Procedure They May Suffer From Discomfort in Chest Region;severe Haemorrhage May Take Place Through Upper and Lower Channels.
(6) Sanvrut Kostha(Vata Dominant Kostha),duchhardit(Poor Response to Emetics)
Reason:- Causes Dosha Utklesh Leading to Visarpa, Stambha, Jadya.morbid Doshas Get Stimulated but Do Not Get Eliminated.these Accumulate in the Alimentary Tract and Cause Internally Acute Spreading Infections,stasis,dullness,fainting or Death.
(7) Urdhvavat,asthapit (Person Taking Niruha Basti), anuvasit (Person Taking Anuvasan Basti)
Reason:- Increase in Upward Movement of Vata
(8) Hridroga (Heart Disease):-
Reason:- There Will Be Impairment in Cardiac Function.
(9) Udavart (Upward Movement of Vata)
Reason:- Aggravation of Condition Which May Quickly Cause Death.
(10) Mutraghat (Obstructed Micturation), pleeha (Splenic Enlargment), udara(Ascitis), asthila (Prostate Enlargment), svarupghat (Hoarseness of Voice)
Reason:- Manifestation of Acute Pain
(11) Timir (Progressive Catarct)
Reason:- Aggravation of the Condition.
(12) Shirshul (Headache), karna Shula (Ear Ache), Akshi Shula (Pain in Eyes).
Reason:- There is an Increse in the Intensity of Pain.
