Jala Varga
Jala Varga Refers To “Various Resources of Water“.
Water Being an Important Component in Our Body Does Many Functions Like Carrying Nutrients, Detoxification, Acts as a Media for Absorption Etc.
Many Ayurvedic Formulations Are Prepared by Taking Water as A Base. (Such As Hima, Phanta, Swarasa, Katha Etc.)
Also, Water Is an Important Vehicle for Drug Administration Too.
Types Of Jala
According To Acharya Charak:
There Is Only One Variety of Water Which Falls from Nabha (Sky).
And When It Comes in Contact with Moonlight, Wind and Sunlight, It Acquires Qualities Like Coldness, Hotness, Unctuousness Etc.
Qualities Of Divya Jala:
Shita (Cold), Suchi (Pure), Siva (Holy), Mrasta (Tasty), Vimala (Clear), Laghu (Light).
Sita Jala: Useful In Madatyaya, Glani, Murcha, Chardi, Bhrama, Trishna, Daha, Visa, Pittasra.
Contraindications: Pratishyaya, Vataroga, Galagraha, Adhman, Nava Jwara, Hikka, Kasa and Shwasa.
Ushna Jala: Dipana, Pachana, Kanthya, Laghu, Basti Shodhaka, Hikka, Adhmana, Nava Jwara, Kasa, Shwasa, Pinasa, Parshav Shula.
Contraindication: Paittika Vikara, Madatyaya, Glani Daha, Trishna, Visa, Piitasra.
Jalapana Kala
Before Having Food: Agnisada, Krishnagata.
After Consuming Food: Sthulatya, Kaphvardaka.
In Between Food: Dosha Samyata, Nourishes Dhatu, Sukha Jarana.
Types Of Bhauma Jala
Jangama: Ruksha, Laghu, Kaphapitta Hara, Deepana, Pathya
Anupa: Abhisyandi, Snigdha, Guru, Kaphakarak, Agnimandyajanak
Sadharana: Laghu, Sheetal, Madhura, Deepana, Tridoshahara
