Daily Regimen (Dant Dhawan, Jihva Nirlekhan, Anjan, Kaval Gandusha)

1. Dantadhawan (Teeth Cleaning): Method of Danta Dhwana: - Tips of the Herbal Twig Shoud Be Crushed by Teeth & Then Used for Cleaning.the Stick Used for Danta Dhawan Should Be 12 Angula in Length & Thickness Should Be Like a Little Finger.it Should Be Soft and Devoid of Any Spike Then Teeth Should Be Cleaned Without Hurting the Gums.it is Advised to Both Time Morning and Evening.

Herbal Twigs:- Arka(Madar), Nyagrodha(Banyan Tree), Khadir(Catechu),karanja(Pongamia Pinnata),kakubha(Arjuna),nimba(Azadirecta Indica),madhuka(Madhuka Indica), Jambu(Indian Blackberry).

According to Taste Best Twigs Are as Followes

Sweet: - Madhuka (Madhuka Indica), Pungent: -karanja (Pongania Pinnata), Astringent: -khadir (Acacia Catechu)

Contraindication for Dantadhawan: -who Has Suffering From Indigestion, Vomitting, Dyspnea, Cough, Fever, Facial Paralysis, Thirst, Ulceration of the Mouth, Disease of the Heart, Eyes, Head and Ears Should Not Be Use of the Tooth Brush.

Benefits of Dantadhawan: - It Provides Oral Freshness.the Waste Present at Tongue, Teeth&mouth Are Cleaned and Tatse Sensation is Improved.
In Sushruta Samhita Also Described Dantashodhan Churna Like Honey, Tejovati, Trikatu, Dalchini, Tail, Saindhav.

2. Jihwa Nirlekhan (Tounge Scraping): Tounge Scrapers Which Should Not Be Sharp Edged and Are Curved.it Should Be Made of Metals Like Gold, Silver,copper and Brass.tounge Scraper is 10 Angula in Length.the Malas(Dirt) Deposited at the Root of the Tongue , Give Rise to Foul Smell So the Tongue Should Be Scraped Regularly.

3. Anjan (Collyrium): Anjan is Best for Theraputic Effect and Also Cosmetically.in Ayurveda Anjan is Described in Dincharya.
Suviranjana is Good for the Eyes Hence It Should Be Used Daily.the Eye is Full of Tejas(Light) and Has Risk of Troubles Especially From Sleshma(Kapha)hence Rasanjan Should Be Used Once a Week to Drain It(Kapha) Out.
In Sushruta Samhita Three Types of Anjan Described Are as Followes

1. Lekhan Anjan: -it Has Five Tastes Except Sweet.they Are Also Called Shodhan Anjan Because They Are Cleansing Morbid Doshas From Eyes, Head and Expel Them Through Eyes, Mouth or Nose.

2. Ropan Anjan: -they Are Healing in Nature.astringent, Bitter in Taste.it Also Strenghthen Eye Sight.

3. Prasadan Anjan: - They Are Sweet in Taste and Unctous.they Are Soothing and Calming in Nature.

4. Kavala-gandusha(Gargling):

Gandusha: - Filling the Mouth With Liquids Fully Not Permitting Any Movement Inside is Called Gandusha.holds the Liquid in Mouth Till the Mouth Gets Filled With Kapha or Till the Nose and Eyes Become Secretory.

Types of Gandusha: -there Are Four Types 1. Snigdha (Lubricating) 2. Shaman (Palliative) 3. Shodhan (Purifactory) 4. Ropana (Healing)
1. Snigdha: - It is by the Use of Oil Pricessed With Drugs of Sweet, Sour and Salt Tastes.
2. Shaman: - It is Drugs of Bitter, Astringent and Sweet Tastes.
3. Shodhan: - It is Bitter, Pungent, Salt, Sourin Tastes and Hot in Potency.
4. Ropana: - It is Astringent and Bitter in Tastes.

Kaval: - Allowing the Movement of Liquids Inside the Mouth is Called Kavala(Gargling).

Diseases of the Neck, Head, Ears, Mouth and Eyes, Excess Salivation, Diseases of the Throat, Dryness of the Mouth, Nausea, Stupor, Anorexia and Rhinitis Are Curable Especially by Kavala.
