According to Acharya Charak:

6. Excessive sweating

7. Excessive hunger and

8. Excessive thirst.

Because of these reasons obese person suffers with the mental disturbance.

According to Acharya Sushruta:

Sushruta described that excessive accumulation of fat blocks the movement of sensory and motor impulses. This causes mental slow cognitive response (Jadata), where the individual feels mentally dull.

Meda (fat) absorbs all the nutrition, the subsequent tissues- especially the reproductive tissue (Shukra dhatu) remain malnourished. This results in low sexual strength and anxiety, profoundly damaging the individual's self-esteem, marital harmony and general mental peace.
